Alex, Emmy & baby Eli taking a resort pool swim

Alex and Emmy Yuspeh are a married PADI MSDT and SSI OWSI scuba instructor couple. They met scuba diving in Thailand in 2015. And the rest is history. Alex and Emmy dated for 2 years before they got married in Emmy’s home country of Sweden in 2017. Since 2015, Alex and Emmy have instructed scuba diving in Thailand (Koh Tao & Koh Phi Phi), Honduras (Utila), St Thomas (USVI), and Maui. They have also traveled to around 40 countries together and much more before they met. Alex and Emmy have decided after 6 years of bouncing around the world to call Maui their permanent home- starting a family with baby Eli Yuspeh in December 2021 and bought a condo.

Alex Yuspeh was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a youth, he was a highly rated regional tennis player in the Midwest. Alex got interested in scuba diving in 1998 on a family trip to Hawaii. That trip Alex got his PADI Open Water certification. Alec attended Arizona State University where we received a Bachelor’s of Science: Real Estate, and a Bachelor’s of Science: Finance. A few years later Alex received a Master’s of Accountancy where he worked a few years in public accounting. Afterwards, Alex changed professions and went into Marketing and Sales where he worked his way up to Director of Sales and Marketing. In 2015, Alex left the “professional world” and followed his life long passion of diving. Being a recreational diver on vacations for years, Alex became a Dive Master and then an Instructor. Alex traveled to near 100 countries and has dived around the world including, the Caribbean, Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Spain, Canary Islands, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Egypt, Zanzibar, India, etc. Alex is happy to be doing what he loves and showing people the underwater world.

Emmy Yuspeh was born in Falun, Sweden, about two hours from Stockholm. From an early age, Emmy was fascinated by animals. She has ducks, chickens, snakes as pets as a child. She would go into the forest and come back showing her parents the frogs she collected. That is why Emmy received a minor in her undergraduate degree in biology. While at “Uni” as they call in Europe, Emmy did a year abroad in Indonesia where she got the passion for scuba diving and surfing. After she finished “Uni” Emmy backpacked South America on her own and self-taught herself Spanish on her adventure. After meeting Alex and becoming a scuba instructor, they moved back to Sweden so Emmy could get her Master’s in Sustainable Destination Development (eco-tourism) at the University of Uppsala at the Visby campus. After completing her degree in June 2020, Emmy and Alex went on a quest to settle in the US, start a personal dive shop, star ta family and buy a house. Shortly after moving to Maui, they are expecting a baby in December 2021, bought a house and started Humpback Divers. Emmy and Alex are living their dream in paradise.
